Keynote Speaker: Karl Palachuk
Topic: Keynote “Consistency and Lasting Success”
Conference Starts@9:00am PST
Hi everyone gonna try liveblog from the road completely from my iOS device. Currently on a shuttle bus headed to LAX @Frank Gurnee
9:00 Karl comes on overview of first 2 days. Company culture is the theme for day 3. With disintermediation there will be opportunity for relationship and consulting came out of day 2. Social media must be strategized to Be successful with the marketing medium. Excellence should be a goal of all but is not a goal for many.
9:08 Consistency causes success. Repeatable, consistent, tasks drive success. Immediate success is rare; long term, day to day consistency is the key. Consistently be good at what you do replicate processes. This doesn’t mean do not evolve. Evolution is necessary as well to be successful. 2 kinds of consistency “Focus” and “Action”. Focus is the long term goals.
it’s important to create processes around everything you do in business, there is extreme value in a business that has documented processes
9:20 Actions turn dreams into reality. Bad habits are hard to be broken. Creating good habits allows building muscles of success. You must decide to take action to make a change.change can be a good thing it allows us to keep moving this I especially true in technology.
9:28 Standard operating procedures and processes allow for personal time, vacations, etc. Do not try to reinvent the wheel everyday. Replication provides efficiency and consistency. Company culture can’t be taken or replicated from one business to another. Culture is fundamentally tied to the vision of the company. You can conscientiously decide to create an control culture in your company. Action must be a priority you must commit to getting up and making action a habit.
9:39 Standard operating procedures allows a company to continue even if something were to happen to key staff. “This hits close to home for the industry considering recent high profile losses experienced the last couple years.”
9:45 communication has changed, the community is having a harder time getting people together, costs to attend conferences are harder for for companies to justify. This complete web and teleconference is a vision into the future of communication and events of the future. The format has been well laid out and the content has been relevant. I think this sets a great precedence for what will see from many organizations.

As I finish up this LiveBlog from my iOS mobile device, sitting in traffic on the 405 fwy in LA. It is easy to reflect on just how far communication has come. I attended a completely virtual conference, could interact with the speaker, all while blogging on a single device. Hardware is no longer a factor in this new world, as long as you have a data connection, you are connected to the world. We don’t carry maps or encyclopedias, no Rolodex or even writing utensils, we are but a touch a way from communicating with any other person. “It is time to evolve, to change, to stay relevant.”
