StorageCraft Cuts out Middleman with Latest Announcement
Considering the timing of this announcement and our last article Dell and eFolder Assure Your Data is Safe, this announcement and the last, seem to make much more sense. StorageCraft today announced that it will be providing its own integrated cloud backup solution, see (Press Release) below. In the past, StorageCraft has relied heavily on partnerships with companies like eFolder, Datto, Axcient, Zenith InfoTech, CharTec and many others for cloud and hardware solutions.
With the latest announcement it would seem that StorageCraft is working towards a complete solution to provide to its customers. This new cloud solution, simply named StorageCraft Cloud Services, comes in three flavors, Cloud Basic, Cloud+, and Cloud Premium. Each of these has its own feature set with Cloud Premium including the highly sought after instant cloud virtualization feature.
The question becomes is StorageCraft working on a hardware appliance? Though this may be less of an issue as many hardware vendors have either moved away from the platform to other software vendors, have integrated with additional software platforms or have developed their own integrated software, it still may be a cause for concern for some vendors.
Pricing for the new solution is not yet clear and whether it will be bundled with licensing has not been publicly announced. The StorageCraft Cloud Service will be available through distribution and is only available to those partners enrolled in the StorageCraft Managed Service Provider (MSP) Partner Program.
