HEROware President Resigns and Company Announces Key Promotions

HEROware best known for its backup and data recovery solutions and customer service focused business has announced the resignation of its founder, president, and Chief Technology Officer Lynn Shourds see (press release) below. Shourds began the company in 2008 and has grown the backup solutions company to be a true name and proven leader in the channel.

Shourds will remain a part of HEROware and will continue his role on the board of directors. Though it is not yet clear who will step into the CTO role; HEROware announced a number of key promotions and management changes along with the news of Shourds departure.

Bob Erickson who joined the company in 2011 as Chief Operating Officer has been elected to the board of directors and will oversee the next round of funding for the company.

Rob Ryan who has held the role of Director of Sales has been promoted to Executive Vice President of Sales, Marketing, and Customer Service. In his role as Director of Sales, Ryan was able to lead the company to a customer service focus and has gained the respect of the industry as a customer focused sales organization.

Paul Moore who most recently held the position of Director of Technical Services is taking the new role of Vice President of Professional Services & Customer Support. Moore who has been with HEROware from the beginning brings a well-rounded experience from all aspects of the internal business.

With the organizational changes it would appear that HEROware is on the verge of some additional big announcements. With the next round of funding on their mind, we can only expect that this news fits into an exciting bigger picture for the organization.

Founder, Lynn Shourds, resigns from President/CTO role at HEROware

Lynn Shourds will be stepping down from his position as President and Chief Technology Officer.  Lynn is the Founder of HEROware and created a product line, market, and business using real-time replication technology from Double-Take Software to provide high-availability appliances to MSP’s worldwide.  Lynn’s vision led HEROware to become a major player in the vastly growing BDR space.   Lynn will remain on the HEROware Board of Directors and will remain as one of HEROware’s leading equity shareholders.

Bob Erickson, current Chief Operating Officer, will be joining the Board of Directors and expanding his responsibilities to oversee all of the company’s investor relationships, including finalizing another round of funding. Bob brings his 25 years of global, operational and executive leadership honed during his Professional Services career at Accenture and Avanade to help drive the overall strategy and direction of HEROware towards an even more customer centric organization.

Rob Ryan Promoted to Executive Vice President, Sales, Marketing and Customer Service

Rob Ryan, current Director of Sales, has been promoted to become the company’s new Executive Vice President, Sales, Marketing and Customer Service.  Rob has been embedded on the front lines of HEROware for a year, listening to and building relationships with HEROware’s customers. He has heard the customer’s perspective on what is needed to successfully compete as a company.  Rob is a proven former CEO, who has successfully launched and grown multiple software & technology companies  and will bring those 23 years of experience to bear on driving HEROware to deliver for its customers each day.

Paul Moore Promoted to VP of Professional Services & Customer Support

Long-time HEROware employee, Paul Moore, current Director of Technical Services, has been promoted to the new role of VP of Professional Services & Customer Support.  Paul brings his decades of corporate IT experience to serving HEROware customers -from their point of view.  Paul has sat on all sides of the IT sales and product table and that will help HEROware build out a Services organization to help its customer’s succeed.
