Thanks for the ideas, Frank. We upgraded my daughters’ laptop last year before she went away for the first time; it should still be good for another year or two. Forgoing the trendiness of the iPad and the limited functionality of the Fire, we settled on a Nexus 7 as a back to school gift this year. I’ll be sending it off before I go in to start my shift at DISH, tomorrow. I went a head an preloaded a bunch of apps that might help her with her scheduling and her studies but I also included one for a little entertainment/ piece of home. It’s called the DISH Remote Access app and she can use it to watch all of her favorite live channels and she can even access all of the shows and movies she has recorded on our DISH Hopper at home. She gets to have a little bit of home with her and I don’t have to foot her dorms cable bill.
